Union Government has reconstituted Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with Pahlaj Nihalani as the chairperson and 9 other board members.

Twitter ropes in Taranjeet Singh to head business in India

Microblogging site Twitter has hired Taranjeet Singh as business head for its operations in India. Singh will be based out of Gurgaon and will be responsible for increasing commercial opportunities for Twitter and work closely with brands and agencies to maximise the value of real-time marketing for live public conversations.

24 children, including 8 girls, have been selected for National Bravery Awards for 2014

Among the awardees are 8 girls. Four children have been posthumously awarded for their supreme sacrifice in their battle for saving others.

16 year old Resham Fatma of Uttar Pradesh, a victim of acid attack, will be conferred the Bharat Award.

The prestigious Geeta Chopra Award has been conferred on 13 year old Gunjan Sharma of Assam who displayed exemplary valor in saving her friends from the clutches of an abductor.

The Sanjay Chopra Award has been given to 16 year old Master Devesh Kumar of Uttar Pradesh who displayed outstanding courage while confronting two chain-snatchers.

Hyderabad to host World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) in 2018

The decision to hold the event was taken during a meeting between Chief Minister of Telangana  K Chandrasekhar Rao and National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) on 16 January 2015. WCIT will be attended by over 2500 delegates from 80 countries and would cover issues such as cyber security, global collaborative models, continuing IT education policies, global convergence, future of technology and others. In 2014, the 19th WCIT was held at Guadalajara in Mexico. The theme was Building the Digital Age Together. The 20th WCIT will be held at Bercilia, Brazil in 2016. The first WCIT was held in 1978 and the event is organized every two years.
