PDP’s Mufti Mohammed Sayeed takes oath as J&K CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was sworn-in as Chief Minister of Peoples Democratic Party-Bhartiya Janta Party (PDP-BJP) coalition government of Jammu & Kashmir on 1 March 2015 . As a person he became 9th Chief Minister of J&K and 12th Chief Minister as tenure wise. Senior BJP leader Nirmal Singh was sworn in as the deputy chief minister. Jury orders Apple to pay $533 million in iTunes patent case The world’s most valuable company was ordered by a federal jury to pay $532.9 million to Smartflash, a tiny Texas company that alleged that Apple willfully infringed on its intellectual property by using its patented technology in Apple’s iTunes software. Smartflash had filed its patent infringement complaint against Apple in May 2013. Smartflash had asked for 852 million US dollar in damages for Apple’s wilful infringement of the patents. Spouses of H-1B visa holders to get work permits in US United States (US) has announced to provide work permits to spouses of H-1B visa holders from 26 May 2015. Under existing US laws, spouses of H-1B visa holders are not eligible to work. Rajya Sabha passes bill to include certain communities in SC list A bill to include certain synonymous names of communities under Scheduled Castes category in Haryana, Karnataka, Odisha and Dadra and Nagar Haveli was passed by Rajya Sabha on 24 February. The Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Orders (Amendment) Bill, 2014 was passed by a voice vote.
