PM Narendra Modi constitutes 3 sub-groups of CMs within NITI Aayog

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday announced that NITI Aayog will set up sub-groups of chief ministers to deliberate on the future of centrally sponsored schemes, promotion of skilled manpower and pushing the Swachh Bharat campaign. He used to the term “Team India” in this meeting for describing a combination of three vital teams in the structure of NITI Aayog:

  • The Prime Minister and Chief Ministers
  • The Union Council of Ministers
  • The bureaucracy at the Centre and in States

Tata Communications signs $20 mn deal with KION Group

Tata Communications said it has signed a $20 million multi-year deal with Germany-based KION Group to provide global wide area network (WAN) services to the group’s 330 sites across 30 countries. The KION Group is the second largest global manufacturer of forklift trucks and warehouse technology.

Gauguin painting breaks sale record at nearly $300m

A painting of two Tahitian girls by the French artist Paul Gauguin has been sold for $300m (£197m), making it the most expensive work of art ever sold. This painting was painted in 1892 and was sold to a museum in Qatar. This painting broke the previous highest price record for a painting by Paul Cezanne, sold in 2011 for a reported 158 million dollars to Qatar.

Anirban Lahiri wins maiden European Tour title in Malaysia

Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri secured his breakthrough European Tour title by overhauling Austrian Bernd Wiesberger in a dramatic final round of the Malaysian Open on Sunday. In the final 4th round he defeated Austria’s Bernd Wiesberger by one shot at the Kaula Lumpur Golf Club and Country Club.
