Dick Costolo resigned as CEO of Twitter Inc
Dick Costolo has resigned as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Twitter Inc after leading the company for five years. Costolo will demit the office of CEO on 1 July 2015. Twitter cofounder and Square Inc’s CEO Jack Dorsey will take over as the Interim CEO of the company on 1 July 2015 and will stay until a replacement is found.
US becomes biggest oil producer in 2014, surpasses Saudi Arabia
The United States has overtaken Saudi Arabia as the world’s biggest oil producer in 2014. The US produced 15.9% more oil in 2014 at 11.6 million barrels of oil per day to topple Saudi Arabia’s 11.5 million bpd production, according to BP Plc’s Statistical Review of World Energy.
India’s First Indigenous Aircraft Carrier INS Vikrant Undocked
India’s first indigenously-built largest aircraft carrier INS Vikrant was successfully undocked at Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) in Cochin district of Kerala. The successful completion of the 40,000 tonne aircraft carrier puts India in the elite group of four nations — the US, Russia, the UK and France — in the world capable of designing and constructing aircraft carriers.

Legendary English actor, singer and writer Sir Christopher Lee passed away in London, United Kingdom. He was 93. The veteran actor was famously known as the master of horror for his famous villainy acting roles in numerous movies such as Dracula, The Wicker Man, James Bond, Lord of the Rings trilogy etc. He was knighted in 2009 for services to drama and charity and was awarded a BAFTA fellowship in 2011.

Former West Indies fast bowler Sir Wesley Winfield Hall has been inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame. He is 80th cricketer to be inducted in the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame and 18th from West Indies. He is the 4th cricketer to be inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame in 2015 after Betty Wilson, Anil Kumble and Martin Crowe.
