Pink City Gets Metro Rail; Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje Flags Off First Jaipur Metro Train

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje flagged off the inaugural train of state capital city’s metro rail system on 9.6 km long route from Mansarovar to Chandpole. Jaipur became the sixth Indian city to have the metro rail system after Kolkata, Delhi NCR, Bangalore, Gurgaon and Mumbai.

Bangladesh allows LIC to operate in domestic market

Bangladesh has granted permission to the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) to run its business, making it the second foreign insurance company to operate in the country after the US-based MetLife-ALICO.

FMCG player Emami Limited acquired ayurvedic hair and scalp care brand Kesh King for 1651 crore rupees. With this acquisition, Emami forays into the fast-­growing haircare segment. Emami’s current oil portfolio includes Navratna Cool Oil and Emami 7 Oil in One Damage Control Hair Oil. Introduced in 2009 by Sanjeev Juneja, Kesh King brand offers products such as oil, herbal shampoo and conditioner and ayurvedic capsules.

Inderjeet won gold in shot put at 21st Asian Athletics Championships

Inderjeet Singh won gold medal in men’s shot put event in the 21st Asian Athletics Championships. The 21st Asian Athletics Championships is being held from 3 June to 7 June 2015 at Wuhan, China. The 27-­year­-old Up and coming track and field star Inderjeet heaved the iron ball to a new championship record of 20.41 meter, which he achieved in his fourth attempt. Chang Ming­-Huang of Chinese Taipei won the silver with a throw of 19.56 meter, while Tian Zizhong of the home country bagged the bronze with a throw of 19.25 meter.
