Most Loved Quant Course For CAT

A short-cut i.e. a ready-made formula to solve a question is very tempting. Unfortunately it only adds to the mystery that Math is … for most; and is useless for CAT, because there is a small additional condition in the question that makes the short-cut non-applicable.

So many students have wasted their year joining online CAT courses that promise all sorts of short-cuts, only to realise that CAT cannot be cleared using shortcuts.

Our focus is pure understanding. Once you understand the concept, the so-called short-cuts will seem obvious to you. They are just mental models which you can adjust to new conditions and create your own short-cuts. It is a course in mental ability and quantitative aptitude.

  • Dont mug up anything, but understand it holistically
  • Get familiar with a wide wide range of questions
  • Video explanation for all questions
  • All doubts are answered in details and no doubt is silly for us

  • Revision Notes included in the CAT Quant course

This is a very common problem faced by anyone who is not good in Maths. This, as well as ‘I go blank when I see a question, it seems like I have not learnt the topic earlier’ are to be expected. They can be overcome by periodic revision and a focus on problem solving skills i.e. ability to apply the concepts learnt to unseen scenarios. The course is a course in mental ability and quantitative aptitude. Rather than solving by a formula or procedure, our focus on oral, mental processes help you in building these problem solving techniques.

Make The Most Of The Quant Course For CAT

Order Of Learning Topics

The typical order which most first-timers follow is: Number Systems, Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, and then the rest of it. Our quantitative aptitude online classes also follow this order. However, if you are experienced, then you can learn the topics in any order e.g. if Geometry excites you, you can start with Geometry, you will not face any issue. Some classes start with P&C without students facing any issue. However what we suggest is to do the topics which are important for CAT first and these are Arithmetic, Algebra and Geometry. Amongst these you can follow your interest area first. And after these three are done, then do the remaining topics in whatever order you prefer.

Making Notes

It is very important that you make notes as you progress through this quantitative aptitude course. Notes should include anything that is new for you:

  • a formula
  • a concept
  • a technique resorted to while solving a question
  • a listing of all practice question numbers that you would like to have a look again at.

You will need these notes to revise.

Course In Mental Ability And Quantitative Aptitude

You need to consider this course as a mental ability course i.e. using mental ability in quantitative aptitude. What this means -spend quality time on every question you practise. Don’t just solve it in a hurry and don’t immediately move ahead once you get to an answer. Try to make logical sense of the pencil-work. Could the pencil work be eliminated by logical thought process? If not, could the pencil work be reduced? There can be many ways for this … more efficient working and writing less or even choosing a different variable. Ask yourself if there are alternate ways to solve the same question. It is very important that these steps are thought of to increase your speed and your problem solving skills.

Revision

As important as it is to make notes, it is equally important to revise. There is a complete video on the whys and hows of revision which you can find on our YouTube channel, a highly recommended watch.. If you sacrifice revision in favour of completing more topics, your CAT quantitative aptitude preparation online or offline will be hugely compromised and you will realise this very late to make amends. So, make sure you revise.
