Sai Kiran, we are very poor in replying to queries online. So our suggestion is that post these questions on any CAT prep group on Facebook, you will get a solution faster.
Considering n = 3n (a multiple of 3), the increase in sum = 9 x 2n = 18n and the decrease in sum = 6 x n = 6n. Thus, the net change in sum = increase of 12n. And dividing this by the total number of observations (3n, because of our assumption), the change in average = +12n/3n = +4.
Alternate solution: Take observations as {41, 41, 41} with avg = 41.
New set of observations {50, 50, 35}. New average = 45. Now try to fit in with the options.
thank u sir despite being busy u have answered my query.
can u suggest some CAT prep group?
