Women’s WT-20: WI beat Australia in final
West Indies has won their maiden Women’s World T-20 title by defeating reigning champions Australia by 8 wickets at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
- Batting first Australia had score of 148 runs for 5 wickets. West Indies in reply scored 149 runs in 19.3 over at the loss of 2 wickets.

- West Indies: Stafanie Taylor.
- Australia: Meg Lanning.

- Player of the match: Hayley Matthews (West Indies).
- Player of the series: Stafanie Taylor (West Indies).
Note: This was the 5th edition of Women’s World Twenty20 tournament with the first tournament being staged in 2009.
- Australia has been the most successful team winning the title thrice, followed by England and West Indies (one title each).
- The first edition being held in England in 2009 and Sixth edition of The 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 will be hosted in the West Indies.
