Windies beat England by 4 wickets to lift WT20 title
West Indies has won the ICC Cricket World Men’s T-20 Cup 2016 by defeating England by 4 wickets in the final match played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
- In the final match, England batting first had scored 155 runs for 9 wickets.
- Carlos Brathwaite struck four consecutive sixes in the final over as the West Indies chased down England’s 155 to win a thrilling final by six wickets and lift the World Twenty20 for the second time.
- Earlier West Indies had won its first title in 2012.

Awards
- Player of the match: Marlon Samuels (West Indies).
- Player of the series: Virat Kohli (India).
- Kohli batted five innings in the tournament, scoring a total of 273 at an average of 136.50 with a strike-rate of just under 147.
- This is the second successive time Kohli has won the award, after he was also named as the player of the 2014 tournament in Bangladesh following his 319 runs which helped India reach the final.
