The Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) has become the first airport in the country to be fully powered by solar power
Cochin airport becomes the first airport in India to run on solar power; spread over 50 acres project is estimated to generate approximately 50,000 units of electricity daily. As part of its initiative to become the first ‘green airport‘ in the country, CIAL had commissioned two solar plants of smaller capacity in 2013. The success of these plants led CIAL authorities to set up a 12 MW plant.

NASA spacecraft finds glowing neon gas on moon
NASA’s Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer (LADEE) has confirmed for the first time, the existence of glowing neon gas on the moon’s atmosphere. Neon gas is commonly used in electric signs on Earth because of its intense glow. Scientists have speculated on the presence of neon in the lunar atmosphere for decades.
Kishor Piraji Kharat appointed as MD and CEO of IDBI Bank
Kishor Piraji Kharat was appointed as the Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI). Earlier, he had served Union Bank of India as an Executive Director and before that he had served Bank of Baroda for three decades.
